¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
The wireless sensor networks used in various applications are exposed to the attacks of malicious users. Thus, it is essential to guarantee the confidence and integrity of data in wireless sensor networks. However, most of the existing encryption schemes for hierarchical structures use the inefficient algorithms which perform the high-level encryption by using the standardized encryption key in all of the data. To overcome this problem, in this paper, we propose an energy-efficient differential AES encryption scheme for wireless sensor networks that efficiently consumes the encryption cost. As the proposed scheme performs the encryption that consists of 3 phases according to the criticality of the data in the hierarchical structure, it reduces the strength of the encryption and thus is energy-efficient. To show the superiority of our proposed scheme, we compare it with the existing scheme. Our experimental results show that our proposed scheme reduces about 23% in the encryption cost and decreases about 22% in the encryption time over the scheme using the fixed high-level encryption key on average.
